About Dr Wendy Yang
Wendy is trained in a comprehensive range of chiropractic techniques, bodywork and energy work. She has practiced hands-on healing since her early teenage years. She graduated from New Zealand College of Chiropractic after a rigorous 5-year programme.
Born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand, Wendy is familiar with both the Western and Oriental approaches to healthcare. She was greatly influenced by her grandmother, who believed in the body’s self-healing abilities, and the intricate connection between our thoughts, the food we eat and our physical body. Whenever she was unwell as a child, instead of relying in medication and doctors, Wendy was always advised by her grandmother to take rest, consume a cleansing yet nourishing diet and draw her focus inwards – this approach has proved effective for her and her patients time and time again.
Wendy is also a certified Gourmet Raw Food Chef and Instructor from the renowned Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in California. She shares her passion and knowledge of food, healing and joyful living through workshops and business consultations, as well as integrating these practices into her chiropractic consultations.
Detox/Weight Loss Program:
Detox Doctor’ Wendy has started a new Detox/Weight Loss Program at the Practice, which reviews your lifestyle, eating habits and weight loss and detox goals. You will receive one hour’s assessment at the beginning of the programme, telephone/email support throughout the programme, with a half an hour consultation at the end.
My Detox experience: For a few days at the beginning it was a bit hard as I have low blood pressure. Raw protein was added into the diet and after that, I didn’t have any further discomfort due to LBP. It was a very good experience and it was the first time in my life that I went on a vegetarian diet and I felt very good. I felt light and fresh and lost 2 kg in 2 weeks. I didn’t let myself starve. When I felt hungry I snacked, and I ate big portions for my lunches and dinners.
Oh by the way I loved the Xocia choc and thank you for the Quinoa recipes! — Nevi
Holistic Chiropractic
The spine is the connection between the brain and the rest of the body. Together, the spinal cord, the brain and the peripheral nerves form the nervous system which coordinates and integrates the functions of the entire body. Stored spinal tension can affect mental focus, organ function, digestion, flexibility, energy levels and our general well-being.
Patterns for storing spinal tension are usually first formed in our childhood, when the nervous system is going through rapid development. By the time the effects of the stored spinal tension are detected, the tension is deep-set and cannot be easily resolved through stretching, massage or spinal manipulation.
Holistic Chiropractic is a new, gentle and effective approach to health and well-being. Gentle touch, breath, guided imagery, movement and sound are used to unlock and resolve stored tension in the spine, integrating and transforming core issues that created the blockage or dis-ease.
How it Works
This approach is an effective and long-lasting method to transform and resolve deep-set spinal tensions for:
· Stiffness
· Long standing aches and pains
· Anxiety
· Mind-body balance during stressful situations
· Restricted movement
· Chronic illnesses
· Common childhood illnesses
· Maintaining balance and inner peace
· Raising energy levels and general wellbeing
· Improved concentration
Dr Wendy Yang brings together the skills and experience of her chiropractic training with a deep connection with traditional Chinese philosophies on wellness and a comprehensive understanding of nutrition and its critical function in physical and emotional health.
